    Ready For the Stretch Run
For the second time in four weeks, Ohio has a week off to prepare for a key Mid-American Conference game. The Bobcats are coming off a 27-10 come-from-behind win over Akron to keep their hopes of an East Division championship alive. With a 4-2 mark in league play (4-6 overall), Ohio trails first-place Miami (5-1) by a game and Marshall by a half-game (4-1). The Bobcats are off to their best start in the league since 1997 (6-0).

    Comeback Kids
Ohio fell behind 10-0 against Akron Saturday, but scored 27 unanswered points for the victory. The Bobcats limited the Zips to just 32 yards of total offense in the second half (12 rushing), while forcing four turnovers. The first of those, a fumble, was returned 28 yards by Joe Sellers, tying the game at 10-10. Another fumble, at the Akron 22, set up the go-ahead score.

Radio coverage of the Ohio-Marshall game is available via the Ohio Sports Network. Derek Scott (play-by-play), Josh Hatfield (color) and Andy Jones (sideline) will have all the action beginning with the pregame show at 3:00 p.m. Broadcasts can also be accessed via the internet by CLICKING HERE.

The game will be televised live as part of the Mid-American Conference television package with Fox Sports Ohio, Pittsburgh and Detroit and the Empire and Sunshine Network will carry the contest. Josh Lewin (play-by-play), Charles Arbuckle (color) and Sharon Thorsland (sideline) handle the broadcast duties. Satellite Coordinates: TBA.

    The Coach
Brian Knorr (Air Force ‘86) is in his second year as head coach of the Bobcats, holding a 5-16 record after one-plus seasons. He was named Ohio’s 27th head coach on Dec. 12, 2001 after six seasons on the Bobcats’ staff, including the previous two as defensive coordinator. He began his coaching career at his alma mater in 1992 as the Falcons’ head JV coach and assistant offensive line coach.

Knorr has been the guiding force behind the Bobcats’ strength on the defensive front in recent years. The Bobcats ranked third in the Mid-American Conference in scoring, rushing and total defense two years ago and third in total defense and fifth in scoring defense in 1999. He has guided several Bobcats to individual Mid-American Conference honors and helped Dave Zastudil earn near-unanimous All-America mention while coordinating the special teams.

A three-year letterman at the USAFA, Knorr played quarterback and helped the Falcons to four straight bowl appearances. Air Force also defeated Notre Dame four times during Knorr’s career.
