Ohio Men Impressive at Mel Brodt Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ohio men's cross country team tallied 123 points to finish fourth in Saturday's 12-team Mel Brodt Invitational. Cincinnati captured the win with 56 points, while Oakland and Eastern Michigan also finished ahead of Ohio. Mid-American Conference foes Toledo and Bowling Green both finished behind the Bobcats.

For the second straight week, sophomore Drew Frum was the highest-finishing Bobcat, placing seventh overall with a time of 25:54. Fellow sophomore Jason Linton was 13th overall (26:12) and freshman Austin Schiele (26:48) finished 28th. Also scoring for the Bobcats were senior Justin Kempe (26:57/33rd), and sophomore Brian List (27:21/47th).

Others running in the meet for Ohio were freshman Andy Bittner (27:24/48th), freshman Jimmy Hughes (27:29/51st), sophomore Bob Wayner (27:45/60th), senior Brandon Grinwis (27:59/63rd), and freshman Joey McKinney (29:31/98th).

Ohio will be back in action Friday, September 20 when they travel to Malone College to take on Kent State and Western Michigan at the Malone Invitational. The race is set to start at 5 p.m.
