ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Bobcats men’s and women’s cross country teams swept their first meet of the season at the Ohio Relays. The men won their meet 6-19-27, while the women won 8-18-27.

The Ohio men’s teams finished in first, second, and third, combining to get a perfect score of 6 points to capture first place. Behind them were Oberlin College with 19 points, and Ohio Wesleyan with 27 points. Leading the way for the Bobcats was the team of Drew Frum and Justin Kempe, with a time of 39:28.

The Ohio women took first, third and fourth place for the victory, combining for a total of 8 points. Trailing in second was Oberlin College with 18 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan with 27 points. Bobcat captain Katie Fiala and teammate Heather Halderman came finished first overall with a time of 35:20.

The Bobcats are back in action on September 8 at 9:30 a.m when they host Bowling Green and Toledo.
