Ohio Men Finish Third in the Ohio Quad

Athens, Ohio - The Ohio men's track & field team finished third in the Ohio Quad as it celebrated Senior Day on Saturday at Goldsberry Track. The Bobcats (147) trailed Washington (188) and Kent State (178) in the meet, while topping Bowling Green (133).

Sophomore Chris London captured the only first place for the Bobcats, jumping 23'2 ² " to secure the long jump. Several of the Ohio seniors posted strong finishes in multiple events to highlight Senior Day. Hurdler Steve Schaub took third in both the 110m high hurdles (14.57) and the 400m intermediate hurdles (54.13). Seniors dominated the throwing events for Ohio, with Brett Williamson taking fourth in the discus (141'4") and second in the javelin (194'9"), and Nick Pero taking fifth in the shot put (46' ¸") and fourth in the hammer throw (155'10"). The senior standout performances were rounded out by jumper JK Apraku-Gyau, who finished fifth in both the long jump (21'11 ²") and the triple jump (43'3 ¹").

Other top Bobcats for the day included sprinter Martin Jackson, who took fourth in the 100m dash (10.95) and third in the 200 meters (21.44). Steve Godek captured fourth in both the shot put (48'03 ¸") and the javelin (179'0").

The Bobcats will be back on the track May 12th when they host the Ohio Open. The action starts at noon on Goldsberry Track.
