2005 Big Ten Foreign Tour Box and Stats (Game 4)
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Ifeoma Okonkwo (Spring, Texas/Klein Oak) pulled down a team-high six rebounds as the Big Ten All-Stars edged the Belgium National Team in a 78-77 thriller in Aalst, Belgium on Saturday.
Iowa's Crystal Smith hit a 10-foot jumper with seconds remaining to lift the team to victory and help the squad remain undefeated on Tour. Smith led the Big Ten contingent with 20 points, going 7-for-13 from the field, 4-for-6 from the free-throw line and 2-for-4 from three-point range.
Okonkwo is now averaging 8.5 points per game, and 4.0 rebounds per game.
The 2005 Big Ten Foreign Tour wraps up Monday night as the all-stars meet Luxenbourg. The team will tour Luxembourg on Monday before the game and spend the night in Brussels. On Tuesday the team will revisit Amsterdam for one more day and night before returning to the United States Tuesday.
The Big Ten is looking to complete its fourth-consecutive undefeated Tour. The team now has won 18 straight contests and gone 50-18 (.735) since the inception of the Tour in 1992, which has been held annually except for 2003.
