Nov. 7, 2002

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern junior Jeremy Cook (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) has earned Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-District honors from District V. Cook is now eligible for the 2002 Academic All-America team, which will be announced later this month.

Cook has started all 18 games this season as a midfielder for the NU men's soccer team and has made 35 consecutive starts, dating to the 2001 season-opener. He has a team-best three assists. As one the 'Cats' strongest defenders, Cook held the top three scorers in the Big Ten-Pat Noonan, Chad Severs and Mychal Turpin-without a goal.

Cook walked on to the team during the 2000 season when he saw action in three games.
