April 19, 2004

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University Men's Basketball Head Coach Bill Carmody announced the signing of Gary Lee (Flint, Mich./Flint Northern) to a National Letter of Intent. He is the third Wildcats signee this year after Brandon Lee (Peoria, Ill./ Central) and Sterling Williams (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young).

A 6-foot-6 shooting guard, Lee will matriculate at Northwestern in 2004 and be eligible to play for the Wildcats next season.

"We saw Gary over the summer and really liked him," said Carmody. "We think Gary is a guy who will get better as he gets more experience. People recognize him as a good shooter, but we think he can do a lot of things well and has the potential to get better in all aspects of the game. He is an excellent student-athlete and just the kind of person we want to have in this program."
