Kim Pare Named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

March 22, 2005

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Junior Kim Pare (Grand Rapids, Mich.) was named MAAC Offensive Player of Week on Tuesday for her 12-goal, two assist performance last week as Villanova extended its winning streak to seven and improved its record to 8-7, over .500 for the first time since the 2000 season.

Pare, who helped the Wildcats to a 4-0 week, scored a total of 12 goals and added two assists in wins over Iona, Colorado College, Notre Dame and Ottawa.

In Villanova's 7-3 win over Iona on Saturday, Pare scored two goals and added four steals. In addition, she was 4-for-4 on sprints.

Pare went on to score four goals on five shots in the Wildcats' 13-1 pummeling of Colorado College.

On Sunday, Villanova defeated Notre Dame 7-6, with four goals and an assist coming from Pare. She wrapped up her offensive attack on the weekend with a four-goal, one-assist effort versus Ottawa.

The Wildcats return to action on April 2 and 3 when they head to the ECAC Championships in Lewisburg, Pa. Villanova is seeded seventh out of 18 teams.
