Wildcats Prep for Trip to Princeton by Beating Maryland

VILLANOVA, PA. - On Friday, March 26 the Villanova women's water polo team made its home debut a memorable one, defeating the visiting Maryland Terrapins, 14-6 behind a lively crowd at the Villanova Swim Center. The game was tied at three after one quarter, but the 'Cats outscored Maryland, 11-3 the rest of the way for their second win of the season against the Terrapins, and the fifth in their last six games overall.
Kim Pare continued to be the driving force behind 'Nova's offense, scoring six goals in the game to up her season total to 39. Senior Jenny Rosick tied a team-high for the year with four assists. Ellen Howe turned in a solid all-around effort, scoring three goals, handing out two assists, and also recording two steals and three ejections drawn.
Jess Wells made 11 saves in a winning effort, as the Wildcats upped their season record to 6-10.
Up next for Villanova is a three-game weekend at Princeton University. The 'Cats will take on George Washington on Saturday, and Princeton and Bucknell on Sunday.
