Keeley Announces Two Volleyball Signings

June 24, 2003

VILLANOVA, PA. - Villanova University head volleyball coach Allison Keeley recently announced the signing of two recruits for the upcoming 2003 volleyball season. Jessica Hoover, an outside hitter from Highland Park, Ill., and Jen Lalli, a setter from nearby Media, Pa., join the Wildcat program as part of the Villanova's 2003 freshmen class.

Hoover hails from Highland Park, Ill., where she attended Adlai E. Stevenson High School. A 5'11" outside hitter, she was a two-time letterwinner, as well as an All-Area performer as a senior this past season.

"Jessica (Hoover) is a well-rounded court player from the Sports Performance Volleyball Club out of Chicago, which is one of the top teams in the country," said Keeley. "We love Jessica's excitement about Villanova, her work ethic and her tremendous competitive spirit."

Lalli is a native of Media, Pa., where she attended Penncrest High School. A 5'4" setter, she is a four-year letterwinner in volleyball. Lalli garnered a number of prestigious honors during her illustrious Penncrest career including All-Central League first team as a junior and senior, first team All-Delco in 2001 and 2002, MVP of the Central League in 2002, Delaware County Player of the Year in 2002, first team All-District and All-Southeastern Pa in 2002, and honorable mention All-State in 2002.

"We are excited to bring a local athlete to the program," said Keeley. "Jen (Lalli) is an outstanding athlete with a great attitude. She is expected to see playing time as a freshman this season."
