VILLANOVA, Pa. - Sophomore Candice Carlin won her No. 1 singles match in three sets while Morgan Flezzani and Lindsey each battled from a set down to win their singles matches, but the Georgetown Hoyas escaped a trip to the Villanova Tennis Complex with a 4-3 victory on Saturday afternoon. Villanova falls to 3-4 with the loss.

Carlin won the first set of her singles match, 6-0, but then lost the second set, 4-6. She came back and won the third, 6-4. Puchyr won at No. 5, rallying from a set down for the 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory. Morgan Flezzani, who won her No. 4 match, also came back from a set down to win the match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Georgetown won three of its singles matches at Nos. 2, 3 and 6, and swept the doubles matches for the win.

Villanova earned a point for each of its singles matches, but Georgetown earned the winning point from its three doubles victories.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday, March 23, when they host Lehigh at 2:30 p.m.
