Orlando, Fla. - Villanova (4-3) and James Madison (1-2) played a hard-fought match, with each team winning three singles matches. But the Dukes took the doubles point to win the match, 4-3.

The Wildcats won the top three singles matches. Junior Candice Carlin (Moorestown, N.J.) defeated Kristin Nordstrom 6-0, 1-6, 6-1. Classmate Leighann Reilly (Voorhees, N.J.) followed suit in the no. 2 singles spot with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Mary Napier. Reilly's straight sets victory was the only one out of all six singles matches.

Freshman Jaclyn Williamson (Unionville, Pa.) was the final singles winner after coming back to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 over Anna Khoor.

JMU won nos. 4, 5, and 6 singles to even the team score at three. The Dukes went on to win at no. 1 and no. 2 doubles to secure the win. Senior captain Melissa Reed (Wyomissing, Pa.) teamed up with her classmate and co-captain Lindsey Puchyr (Allentown, Pa.) to win at no. 3 doubles, 8-3, over Madison's Ashley Reyher and Barrett Donner.
