VILLANOVA, Pa.- The Villanova University Softball team announced their roster for the 2005 season today (please click on link below for complete roster). The talented returning starters coupled with the promising recruits make up the team that will try and get to the BIG EAST championships for the sixth straight year.

Last season, the team finished with a 32-26 overall record, going 16-6 at home and 12-8 in the BIG EAST, good enough for a third place finish. They were eliminated in the BIG EAST Tournament Notre Dame, who lost to eventual champions, Seton Hall. The Wildcats will kick off their fall season when they participate in the Carol Weil tournament on September 25th.

The Wildcats' 2005 season starts in Greenville, N.C when they compete in the Holiday Inn Express Pirate Classic from February 18-20th, hosted by East Carolina University. Villanova will compete against Fordham, Ohio University, the College of Charleston, and Radford.
