VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior Kari Koller (Rocklin, Calif.) was named Co-Big East Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Koller shared the honor with Meagan Ruthrauff of Notre Dame.
Koller batted .667 for the week, which included a three-run homerun to seal Villanova's come-from-behind victory over Pittsburgh. The win sealed the Wildcats' sweep over the Panthers and their sixth consecutive berth to the Big East Championship. In total, Koller was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBI.
The Wildcats finished the regular season with a 38-23 overall record that included a 10-8 mark in conference games. Villanova will now head to South Bend, Indiana for the double elimination conference tournament, which will be held from May 12-14 at the Belleville Softball Complex. No. 4 seed Villanova will face No. 1 seed Notre Dame on Thursday at 7 p.m.
