Dolan Earns Big East Honors for Second Consecutive Week
Sept. 16, 2002 VILLANOVA, PA. - On Monday, Sept. 16, Villanova University junior goalkeeper Chrissy Dolan (New Hope, Pa./ Pennsbury High School) was named Co-Big East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the second consecutive week. Dolan posted two shutouts in three games this past week, giving her four in six games thus far in 2002. On Sept. 11 at No. 12 nationally ranked Connecticut, Dolan saved nine shots to help lead the Wildcats to a 1-1 tie. Two days later on Friday, Sept. 13, she stopped three shots in a 1-0 shutout victory over Towson. Dolan remained unbeaten in net for the season at 4-0-2 and for her career at 9-0-3 on Sunday, Sept. 15, as Villanova earned a 0-0 tie against previously unbeaten Navy. She saved a season-high 12 shots against the Midshipmen and now has 37 for the season. In six contests in 2002, Dolan has allowed only two goals in nearly 600 minutes in net for a 0.30 goals against average. Her play in net has helped the Wildcat women's soccer team get off to an impressive 4-0-2 start. Dolan and the `Cats will get back into action on Friday, Sept. 20, as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., to take on the University of Pittsburgh Panthers at 7:00 p.m. |
