Villanova Finishes 16th at Princeton
Nov. 13, 2007
PRINCETON, N.J. - The Villanova University women's rowing team traveled back to Princeton University for the Belly of the Carnegie this past weekend. The Wildcats only competed in one race on the weekend and finished 16th of 24 against some tough competition. "I thought it was a good performance considering the competition," said head coach Jack St. Clair. "The way I try and judge our races is how we compete against the other BIG EAST schools and we were only beaten by Georgetown." Georgetown University finished only three spots ahead of Villanova while two other GU boats and two Rutgers University boats finished behind the Wildcats. The boat consisted of all freshmen Kate Traynor, Melissa Nicholson, Allison Telleri, Carine D'Angelo, Allison Samson, Jessica Coelho, Anne Marie Kearing and Kathryn Harkins. The coxswain was freshman Anamary Marquez. The team will be back in action March 8th as they travel to the Rollins Invitational.
