Catching Up With The 'Cats
The Wildcats enter today's contest with a 5-3 record, 2-0 in Big East action. The Wildcats are looking to rebound from a 4-3 overtime loss to No. 13 William & Mary on Saturday. The Wildcats staged a second half come back and tied the score at with 10:20 remaining with a goal by Christina Lugones (Oceanport, N.J.) sending the game into overtime. The Tribe scored with 9:38 remaining in the first overtime period for the win.

Lugones leads Villanova offensively with 11 points (four goals, three assists). Senior Brooke Bergmann (Fallsington, Pa.) has eight points (one goal, six assists).

Head coach Joanie Q. Milhous is in her seventh season directing the Wildcats and has a record of 61-70 on the Main Line. With a 3-1 win over West Chester on Wednesday, Sept. 19, Milhous became the all-time winningest field hockey coach at Villanova surpassing Cheryl Massaro (1984-89).

Scouting Holy Cross
Holy Cross enters today's contest with a 7-1 record overall, 3-0 in Patriot League action. The Crusaders are coming off a 2-1 come from behind victory over the Lafayette Leopards. In yesterrday's match-up with Lafayette, sophomore Heather Yanusas assisted on both goals. Freshman Cathleen Kerman and sophomore Kristina Dodier accounted for the two goals leading the Crusaders to a 2-1 victory.

On the year, Yanusas leads Holy Cross offensively with 18 points (six goals, six assists) followed by Liz Tutella with 17 points (five goals, seven assists) and Dodier with 11 points (four goals, three assists). HC has outscored their opponents in 2001, 26-5.

Crusader goalkeeperJennifer Corsilli has been sensational in goal allowing only five goals in the first eight games. She currently has a 0.80 goals against average and three shutouts on the season.

Holy Cross is led by head coach Meg Galligan who is in her 17th season as the Crusaders head coach. She has compiled a 137-164-10 record while at HC.
