Villanova, Pa. - Sophomore Allison Boris (Shavertown, Pa.) scored three goals and assisted on two in Villanova field hockey's win over Appalachian State to earn BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors.

It is the first such award of her career.

Boris scored the first goal of the game and assisted on the second to help give Villanova a 2-0 halftime lead. She came out firing in the second half and tallied the next two straight goals, 34 seconds apart. Her second goal in that stretch came when she was perfectly positioned to put in a rebound off the goalie's pads. The sophomore had the assist on Villanova's fifth goal as well.

Boris was Villanova's leading rookie scorer in 2005 with seven goals and two assists while playing in all 20 games, starting 12. Villanova (15-5, 4-1 BIG EAST) finished 2005 ranked #15 in the nation and won the BIG EAST regular season title before falling in the championship game of the conference tournament in overtime to Connecticut.
