Post-Game Notes

The Jaspers are the second of three teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) that the Wildcats play this season. Villanova also defeated Marist 64-60 in the season opener and will face Fairfield this coming Tuesday night.

The Wildcats are 33-7 (.825) all-time against teams from the MAAC, with 10 straight victories since a loss to Siena during the 1994-95 season. Villanova is now 4-0 all-time against Manhattan. The prior meeting before this afternoon's game was exactly one year ago, a 64-36 Wildcat triumph at The Pavilion on December 30, 2004.

Suez-Karni ended a streak of 11 straight games, including the first 10 games of this season, in which she scored in double figures. The game marked the first time in the past two seasons that neither Suez-Karni or junior forward Jackie Adamshick (Allentown, Pa.) scored in double figures. Adamshick scored six points and pulled down a team-high six rebounds against Manhattan. She and Suez-Karni have been the team's top two scorers since the beginning of the 2004-05 campaign.

In its past two games Villanova had shot just 32 percent (38-of-119) from the field and 26 percent (9-of-35) from three-point range.

Viani's previous career best was 16 points against Georgetown on January 31, 2004. She had scored just 12 points in the Wildcats last four games before her effort against Manhattan. McManus scored in double figures for the first time since the season opener against Marist.

The Wildcats shot at least 50 percent from three-point range for the third time this season.
