VILLANOVA, PA - Sophomore forward Courtney Mix (Toledo, Ohio/ Toledo Central Catholic) earned her first Big 5 honor of the season and second of her career after leading the Wildcats to a perfect 2-0 record last week with Big East victories over West Virginia and St. John's. In those two wins, Mix averaged 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting .476 from the field.
Mix's best effort of the season came in the 59-44 win over the Mountaineers on Thursday, Jan. 3 when she established a new career-high with 20 points. She shot six-of-nine from the field and eight-for-12 from the charity stripe in addition to eight rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals. Against St. John's, Mix tallied a game-high 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes of action. For the season, she is averaging 9.7 ppg., a team-leading 7.8 rpg., 3.0 apg. and a team-best 2.0 spg.
