Women's Basketball Falls To The Eagles, 60-40

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Kim Mackie scored 16 points, and Brianne Stepherson had nine of her 13 during a decisive run in the second half as No. 24 Boston College beat Villanova 60-40 Wednesday night. The Eagles (15-3, 6-1 Big East) held Villanova (10-7, 4-3) to just two baskets in an 11-minute stretch, using a 20-5 run to open a 46-28 lead with 7:35 left. Nicole Conway added 11 points for Boston College, which has won four in a row and 12 of its last 13. Katie Davis scored 15 points and Mimi Riley had 11 for Villanova, which has lost two in a row, both against ranked opponents, by a combined 53 points. Davis and Riley were a combined 9-of-20 from the field while their teammates were 5-of-33. The Wildcats were just 14-of-53 (26 percent) from the field and were even worse from beyond the 3-point arc, making just 5-of-27 (19 percent). After a 3-pointer by Davis cut Villanova's deficit to 26-23, the Eagles went
on their big run.
