Villanova to Host Jack Pyrah Invitational

Nov. 30, 2005

Villanova's men and women's track teams will host the 3rd Annual Jack Pyrah Invitational this Friday, December 2, at 4:00 p.m. The meet will be held at the Haverford College Indoor Track and Field facility two miles east of Villanova University. All the events will be held at Haverford College with the exception of the weight throw which will be held at Villanova's Butler Annex Building.

Invited teams to the meet include: University of Delaware, Temple University, LaSalle University, Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and Widener University.

The Jack Pyrah Invitational will serve as the official kick-off for the 2005-2006 indoor track and field season. The meet gives many of the track athletes a chance to compete before exams and the winter holidays.

"We have a very large men's freshmen group this year and we are excited to see how they respond to collegiate competition," said men's head coach Marcus O'Sullivan
