Men's Tennis Sweeps Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcats swept all singles and doubles matches and coasted to a 7-0 win over Drexel on Tuesday afternoon in Philadelphia. With the win, Villanova improves to 7-11 overall on the season. The Dragon men fell to 5-8 with the loss. Ricardo Baraldi, Angel Rubio, Scott Fahrendorf and Sean Gallagher each won their matches in straight sets. Baraldi defeated Ilya Tunic at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Rubio won at No. 4 over Kellen Thomas, 6-2, 6-4. Fahrendorf and Gallagher won their No. 5 and 6 matches, respectively. In doubles action, the Wildcats also had no problem sweeping the Dragons. Kusza paired up with Baraldi for an 8-6 No. 1 doubles win. Fahrendorf and Charlie Farmer were a successful duo at No. 2, winning their match, 8-4, while Gallagher and Tony Soruco won at No. 3, 8-2. The men return to action on Thursday, April 14, when they host St. Joseph's at 3 p.m.
