Villanova, Pa. - Villanova (7-9) defeated cross-city rival Temple (14-7) 5-4 yesterday at the Villanova Tennis Complex.

The Wildcats won four singles matches to hold on as the Owls took the doubles point. Villanova's Dimitri Chimerakis (North Palm Beach, Fla.) defeated Jordan Krevitz 6-3, 6-1 in the no. 1 slot. Scott Fahrendorf (Reno, Nev.) rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Matt Struble at no. 3 singles. Charlie Farmer (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Sumanth Chittajallu (Columbus, Ohio) each won at nos. 5 and 6 singles. Farmer won 6-1, 6-4 over Eduardo Saavedra, and Chittajallu defeated Kristopher Celtnieks 6-3, 6-0.

Brian Maher (Dallas, Tex.) and Chittajallu combined to win at third doubles for the 'Cats.
