Washington, D.C. --- The Villanova men's tennis team opened up the Big East season on Saturday, March 23, as they fell to the Georgetown Hoyas, 7-0, in Washington, D.C. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 3-4 on the season and 0-1 in Big East action as the Hoyas improve to 1-0 in conference play.

In doubles action, senior A.J. Rohde (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) and junior John Toppel (Los Altos, Calif./Bellarmine Prep) defeated the Hoyas' Nicholas Sklavounos and Kenneth Jordan, 8-6, at the No. 2 spot. With the victory, Rohde and Toppel win their first doubles competition at second doubles.

The Wildcats will return to action on Tuesday, March 26, when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to battle Lehigh at 2:30 p.m.
