The Villanova men's tennis team opened up their spring break trip traveling to Pomona, Calif. where they were defeated by the #21 ranked Cal Poly Broncos by a final 8-1 score. In singles action, senior A.J. Rohde recorded the Wildcats' only win in three sets. With the loss, the 'Cats fall to 3-1 overall as Cal Poly Pomona improves to 8-1 on the season.

Rohde, playing at No. 2 singles, needed three sets to defeat his Bronco opponent. Scores for the match were 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. In doubles action, juniors Ryan Devine and Brad Adams teamed up at the top spot but dropped a tightly played 9-8 match to Cal's Villaroman and Sullivan.

The Wildcats will return on Wednesday, March 6, when they travel to Costa Mesa, Calif. to do battle with Vanguard University.
