Men's Soccer Moves Into NSCAA Top 25
Oct. 2, 2007
Thanks to their strong first half of the regular season, Villanova has moved into the national top 25 rankings according of the NSCAA/addidas poll. The coaches association poll this week places the Wildcats at No. 23 in the nation. "I think it shows that people respect what we have done so far," stated Villanova head coach Larry Sullivan of the ranking. "We are probably where we belong in terms of the poll right now, but it's not where we ultimately want to be. We want to continue to improve." Added assistant coach Tom Carlin: "It's always good to be recognized by your peers and we appreciate the recognition. But we try not to get too caught up in how others judge us. The most important thing is what we do to keep building on what we have done so far." Villanova (8-2-0 overall, 3-1-0 BIG EAST) is one of five BIG EAST schools in this week's NSCAA/addidas poll. The Wildcats return to the pitch on Wednesday night when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. to meet the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at 7:00 p.m.
