VILLANOVA, PA. - Sophomore attacker Brendan O'Donnell was named the men's lacrosse Co-Player of the Week in the Colonial Athletic Association on Monday. He shares the weekly award with Towson goalie Reed Sothorton.

O'Donnell finished with a career day in Villanova's 12-7 decision over Sacred Heart on Saturday. He notched career bests in goals (four), assists (four) and points (eight). He leads the Wildcats with 28 points coming on 10 goals and a team-best 18 assists. O'Donnell is also the squad's top scorer in conference games.

This week's CAA standings shows O'Donnell leading the league in assists, while his 28 points rank fourth in the conference.

The fourth Wildcat to be honored by the CAA this season, O'Donnell joins goalie Joseph Canuso and midfielder Matt Lucas as Player of the Week honorees, while face-off specialist Chris Colliniates nabbed Rookie of the Week honors earlier this season as well.

With the win over Sacred Heart, the Wildcats moved up one spot to No. 19 in this week's USILA rankings.

Villanova (9-2, 3-1) returns to action on Saturday at 7 p.m. against CAA rival Hofstra at Villanova Stadium.
