VILLANOVA, Pa. - Former Villanova University defensive standout Darrell Adams has been signed to the New York Jet practice squad. The move was announced by Jet General Manager Mike Tannenbaum on December 6.

Adams played along the defensive line at Villanova from 2001-05, earning first team All-Atlantic 10 honors in 2003, 2004 and 2005. As a senior in 2005, he tallied 40 total tackles (18 solo/22 assisted), 11.5 tackles for loss, one sack and two pass break-ups. He ended his Villanova career with 163 tackles, including 40 tackles for loss, and 13 quarterback sacks.

Villanova currently has four players on NFL rosters. Running back Brian Westbrook is in his fifth year with the Philadelphia Eagles, while eight-year NFL veteran Brian Finneran is on the Atlanta Falcons injured reserve list. Safety Raymond Ventrone is on the New England Patriot injured reserve list after spending his rookie season on the Patriot practice squad.
