WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - Marques Bobo intercepted a pass with 25 seconds remaining Saturday as William & Mary beat Villanova 47-44, despite a record-setting performance by the Wildcats' Brian Westbrook.

William & Mary's victory created a four-way tie for the Atlantic 10 championship and denied Villanova (8-3, 7-2 A-10) an automatic bid to the Division 1-AA playoffs. That bid will go to Hofstra. The Tribe (8-3, 7-2), Villanova and Maine will wait to see how many at-large bids the league receives.

Westbrook had 332 all-purpose yards to give him 9,512 for his career, breaking the NCAA all-divisions record of 9,301 yards set by Brian Shay of Division II Emporia State from 1995-1998.

William & Mary's David Corley completed 15 of 21 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns, and Jonathan Smith ran for two scores. Rich Musinski set a William & Mary season record with 1,242 receiving yards, breaking the mark of 1,180 yards set by Mark Compher in 1990.

Brett Gordon of Villanova was 25-of-41 for 258 yards and five touchdowns, two to Brian White.

William & Mary led 34-28 at the half and added two touchdowns in the third quarter before Villanova scored twice in the fourth quarter and succeeded on 2-point conversions each time.

The Wildcats began their final drive at their 9 with 3:05 left. Gordon completed two passes to Shaz Brown and Westbrook had three runs to advance to the Villanova 39. On third down, Bobo intercepted Gordon's pass and returned it 31 yards to the Villanova 18.
