Bryant To Transfer From Men's Basketball Team

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Guard Reggie Bryant will not return to the men's basketball team and will transfer to another university, head coach Jay Wright announced today.

A 6-2 native of Baltimore, Md., Bryant played two seasons for the Wildcats. As a freshman in 2000-01, the product of St. Thomas More averaged 5.7 points and 1.7 rebounds per game despite battling illness through January and February.

During the 2001-02 season, Bryant averaged 9.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. In a National Invitation Tournament quarterfinal loss to Temple Bryant established a new career high with 19 points.

In 55 career games at Villanova, Bryant scored 418 points (7.6 ppg). He made three career starts, all during the 2001-02 season.
