Ray Reports All Went Well in First Full Practice Since Eye Injury
March 15, 2006 Villanova, Pa. - Villanova senior guard Allan Ray (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's High School) participated in the Wildcats' regular practice session on Wednesday afternoon and reported all went well.
"Everything felt good," stated Ray. "I wasn't thinking about the eye at all out there."
Added head coach Jay Wright: "Allan looked great. He was right back at it and didn't show any signs of tentativeness at all. It was good to have him back." Ray suffered a right eye injury early in the second half of Villanova's 68-54 loss to Pittsburgh in the Big East Tournament semifinal at Madison Square Garden. He is second on the Wildcats in scoring at 18.8 ppg and was named first team All-Big East last week.
Villanova takes on Monmouth in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the Wachovia Center on Friday afternoon in Philadelphia.
