VILLANOVA, Pa. - During the 2004-05 academic year, Villanova had 203 student-athletes recognized as Big East Academic All-Stars. In all, the 24 Wildcat teams produced a 3.036 composite GPA for the year, and 19 out of 24 teams had a composite GPA of at least 3.0.

In order to be recognized by the conference, student-athletes from Big East schools must carry at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. In addition to the conference awards, three Wildcat student-athletes were named First Team COSIDA/ESPN The Magazine District II Academic All-Americans last season. The women's basketball team and the volleyball team each received team academic awards from the WBCA and AVCA, respectively.
