Two Panthers Taken in 2006 MLB Draft
June 7, 2006 Cedar Falls, Iowa - Right-hand pitcher Zach Jevne ( Jevne was taken in the 27th round by the Baltimore Orioles as the 805th overall pick. Bradley, a 2006 MVC honorable mention outfielder, was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 33rd round as the 983rd overall selection. Jevne served in the Panthers' starting rotation throughout his sophomore-senior years. He tallied a team-high seven wins during the 2006 season as the No. 1 starter and earned a 3.64 earned run average in 89.0 innings of work. Jevne led the Panthers with 77 strikeouts and recorded his second career complete game against Bradley has been one of the most versatile players on the Panthers' roster for the past two years, playing 28 games at second base, 45 in the outfield and five as the designated hitter. Bradley let the Panthers with five triples in 2006 and recorded seven stolen bases. He hit .331, ranking third on the team, and tallied 57 hits, six doubles, one home run and 23 RBI. Bradley also is a wide receiver on the Panther football squad. Last season, he recorded 14 receptions for 176 yards and had one touchdown. Bradley was accredited with a catch in all four of the Panthers' NCAA playoff games, including a 23-yard reception in the national championship game against Appalachian State.
