DEKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois University track and field head coach Connie Teaberry and her team have rewritten the school record books this season and this week announced three signees for the 2007-2008 season. The Huskies signed Breanna Brevitt (Dixon / Dixon High School), Sunsea Shaw (South Bend, Ind. / Riley), and Stephanie Young (St. Louis, Mo. / Oakville Senior) to their roster for next season.

Brevitt was named first-team all-conference in each of her four years on the cross-country team, a school record. She was also named MVP of her team three of her four years and was a two-time captain. Brevitt will be a distance runner at NIU.

Young is a very highly regarded athlete who is an All-Missouri performer and a three-time team MVP. She earned national recognition last summer when she finished seventh in the heptathlon as the USTF national championships in Baltimore.

Shaw comes to NIU as an All-Indiana performer in cross-country. She set high school records in the 800-meter, 4x400-meter relay, and 4x800-meter relay. Shaw was also the MVP of her basketball team this past season. She has the ability to perform in multiple events at NIU.

"With the ladies that we've signed thus far, we know that our team will improve," said Teaberry. "They all specialize in different and should have huge success as they have had in high school."
