SUGAR GROVE, Ill.--Tulsa trimmed 25 strokes off of their opening round score as the Golden Hurricane shot a second-day 280 to overtake Louisville for the lead in the 2007 NCAA Men's Golf Regional at Rich Harvest Farms on Friday, hosted by Northern Illinois University. "We made a lot of birdies," Tulsa head coach Bill Brogden said. "We have a good team and we've played well all year. We got the ball in the fairway today and we took the opportunities to make some birdies, because the golf course is in fabulous shape." "My whole team is very similar," Brogden continued. "They've known each other since they were 11 years old. They do the same things on the course. We've got five guys that can play." Tulsa's Ryan Henry and Brett Myers each find themselves tied for fifth at one-over-par following rounds of 68 and 74, respectively. As a team, Tulsa holds a seven-stroke tournament lead with a two-round tally of 585.
