DeKALB, IL --- Locally, it’s the Super Bowl doubleheader of the year. How can you beat the annual Northern Illinois University football banquet and Super Bowl XXXVII on Sunday (January 26)?

Head coach Joe Novak and his staff host the annual Huskie football banquet in the Duke Ellington Ballroom at NIU’s Holmes Student Center at 11 a.m. (CST)---early enough to honor the 2002 Mid-American Conference West Division co-champions and numerous individuals prior to the national telecast of the Super Bowl that afternoon.

Fans, friends, alums, parents, etc., can join the celebration, plus pay tribute to the graduating seniors, team captains, and award-winners from the 8-4 Northern Illinois squad that shared its second consecutive West Division title and upset the likes of Atlantic Coast Conference representative Wake Forest and Top 20 Bowling Green State. Just FYI, kickoff time for the Super Bowl is 5:25 p.m. (CST).

Cost of the NIU football banquet is $15 per person. The main course is roast beef. To make your reservation(s), please telephone the Northern Illinois Football Office at (AC 815) 753-1825 by January 20.
