THIBODAUX, La. - After hitting a rough patch of games the past few weekends, the Colonels volleyball team is looking to notch a couple of wins over the weekend but will have to deal with a conference unbeaten, and a team that hasn't lost to the Colonels in over three years.

Stephen F. Austin is currently 17-6 overall and 7-0 in the conference, the only other unbeaten team is east-leading Lamar. With J.J. Jones, Jami Hill and Ashley Bailey, SFA covers offense and defense, causing trouble for opposing teams.

Sam Houston is led by Cynthia Yartosky who averages over four kills per game and four digs making up the heart of the Bearkat squad. Megan McNamara has over 600 assists on the season for the third most in the conference.

Nicholls has lost four straight conference matches to Central Arkansas, Northwestern State, Lamar and McNeese State and have fallen from second in the standings to a tie for fourth. As a team, the Colonels have had a hitting percentage just over .100 and is led by Kindra Halverson with over two kills a game, and Enjoli Ford with over five digs a game.

Gametime for the games is 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
