DOCKREY SETS SCHOOL RECORD IN HIGH JUMP

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Chelsea Dockrey just missed an NCAA Regional Qualifying high jump of 5-8.75, as she posted a school record jump of 5-7, finishing the event in second place at the Southern Miss Invite in Hattiesburg, Miss.

In addition to her recording breaking jump, Dockrey was also part of a 4X400-meter relay team that moved into second place all-time at Nicholls. The team of Dockrey, Nicoya Hutcherson, LaNation McCray and Latasha Bishop ran in a time of 4:06.62 to finish in fifth place.

Rahjanaye Bailey continued to place her name on the Nicholls' career lists, as she moved into third place all-time in the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles. Her personal best time of 15.89 in the 100-meter hurdles led her to an eighth place finish, while her time of 1:08.89 in the 400-meter hurdles also put her in eighth place.

Bishop moved into fourth place in the Colonels record books in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.68, while Jarina Guilbeau currently sits in fifth place all-time in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.45.

Other Nicholls performers included: Dominique Harris (100-meter dash, 13.47, 31st; long jump, 16-2.50, 12th), Guilbeau (100-meter dash, 13.52, T-32nd), Lauren Bazunu (200-meter dash, 27.54, 24th), Hutcherson (400-meter dash, 1:03.05, 18th), Eunice Jepkogei (1500-meter run, 5:11.20, seventh), Sabrina Henkes (400-meter hurdles, 1:10.94, 10th) and the 4X400-meter relay "B" team consisting of Bailey, Bazunu, Henkes and Harris (4:37.06, eighth).

The Colonels return to action on March 17 when they participate in the Louisiana-Lafayette Open in Lafayette, La.
