PIPER ADDS TWO TO COACHING STAFF

Aug. 20, 2007

THIBODAUX, La. - In the team's quest to make it back to the Southland Conference tournament, Nicholls coach Cindy Piper added two new assistants to her staff in Leslie Magee and Kristen Fillmore. "The addition of Leslie and Kristen will be a huge asset to our team, and I know both will do a great job here at Nicholls State," Piper said.

Magee was a standout soccer athlete at Southern Miss where she was named to the All-Conference USA team in 2002 and USM's All-Thirty Team. Magee earned a B.S in Human Performance and before joining Piper's staff she worked as a medical assistant at the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine. "With her experience as a goalkeeper, Leslie will make an impact right away on our goalies," Piper said. Magee has one daughter, Kayla and currently resides in Thibodaux.

Fillmore is no stranger to the team, and will be a student assistant while she works toward earning her degree in Physical Education. In her senior year, Fillmore played in 15 of the Colonels 19 games and lettered all four years at Nicholls. "Kristen is one of the most dedicated players I've ever coached, and I know that desire will filter throughout the entire team," Piper said. Fillmore is currently single and resides in Thibodaux.
