October 31, 2006 MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Nicholls women's golf team completed their 2006 fall schedule with a 10th place finish at the Troy Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, Ala.
South Alabama won the team crown with a 587, followed by Louisiana-Monroe (592) and Jacksonville State (596) and Murray State (606) at Nos. 2-4, respectively.
Belmont and Northern Colorado each finished the tournament with a 609 to tie for fifth place. Austin Peay (614), Western Kentucky (616), Samford (629) and Nicholls (630) fill out the top 10. Jackson State (632), Lipscomb (636), Centenary (641), Troy (647) and Tennessee State (746) round out the remaining tournament field.
After winning last week's Lady Colonel Collegiate, South Alabama's Elin Andersson took home her second consecutive individual crown after shooting two-under par 144. Marylou Soltesz (Louisiana-Monroe), Manuela Tarazona (Jacksonville State), Jenny Henderson (Northern Colorado) and Shasta Averyhardt (Jackson State) all finished with a 145 to tie for the runner-up spot.
Theunette Van der Walt led the Lady Colonels in a tie for 28th place with a 155, followed by Jessica Marquart (156), tied for 32nd place, Daniele Dunlop (158), tied for the 42nd spot, Natalie Robinson (162), tied for 55th place and Emiley Patton (168), tied for 68th place.
