THIBODAUX, La. - The Lady Colonels will take to the road for the sixth time this season in eight games when they travel to play the Lady Braves on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Davey L. Whitney Complex. The Lady Colonels (1-7) fell 56-51 at home against SWAC member Prairie View A&M on Saturday, and were led by senior Katherine Plummer with a game best 19 points. Plummer was the only Nicholls player in double figures in the loss. The Brooklyn, NY native leads the team in scoring (14.4 ppg), assists (4.4 apg), steals (3.6 spg), and in minutes (39.0 mpg). Leading the team in rebounding is true freshman Shelley West with 6.5 boards a game. West is second on the team in scoring with a 9.2 points per game average. Alcorn State (1-4) comes into the contest after gaining their first win of the season last time out on the hardwood with a victory over Mississippi Valley State, 71-49. The Lady Braves have two players averaging in double digits with Shawntawnee Collins leading the way with 13.8 points per game. In all five of Alcorn State's games this season, they have used different starting lineups. The Lady Braves hold the 5-0 all-time series advantage with the last clash between the two teams coming in the 1999-2000 season. Alcorn State won that contest 58-55. The Lady Colonels will be at home their next contest against Centenary College on Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. #### |
