Dec. 7, 2007

THIBODAUX, La. - The Lady Colonels will return to the friendly confines of David R. Stopher Gym on Saturday at 2 p.m. against the Prairie View A&M Panthers after a five game road trip.

The Lady Colonels (1-5) lone victory of the season came on their home floor against Dillard, 69-59, on November 13, and their bout against the Panthers will be only their second contest of the season at home. It will mark the second consecutive year that Prairie View A&M (1-6) and Nicholls have played each other with the Panthers taking last season's game 76-37 on their home court. However, Nicholls holds the 3-2 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.

Senior Katherine Plummer leads the Lady Colonels in scoring heading into the game with an average of 13.7 points per game, and in assist with a 4.8 per contest mark. True freshman Shelley West leads Nicholls in rebounds with 6.6 per game and free throw percentage with a .833 mark.

The Panthers' Candice Thomas and Gaati Werema are each averaging 14.6 points per game, with Werema bolstering a team high tie in rebounds per game with 6.6. Junior Aminata Dieye is the other Panther averaging 6.6 boards a contest.

Tip-off will be at 2 p.m. CST, and the game can be followed live statistically through GameTracker.
