THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels will play the Tulane Green Wave on Friday night in Fogelman Arena at 7 p.m. in search of their first win in the series.

"Tulane is off to a great start this season, and really has a very sound and talented team," said head coach J.P. Piper. "They (Tulane) will be a good test for us."

The Colonels (1-1) are 0-15 in the series against the Green Wave dating back to the 1981-82 season. Nicholls last contest against Tulane (2-0) was in the 2003-04 season, and the Colonels, who led at the half in the game, lost 61-56.

The game against Tulane also marks the start of a seven game road trip for the Colonels with games at Cal, UC Davis, St. Mary's, LSU, New Orleans, and Alabama.

Nicholls opened up the season with a loss at Florida State, but followed that up with a victory in Stopher Gym over Huston-Tillotson on Tuesday night. In the 92-55 victory over the Rams, the Colonels shot 58.1 percent for the game, which included a 24-point effort by sophomore Michael Czepil. Czepil was 6-of-10 from three-point land in the game.

Tulane enters the game having won its first two contests of the season with wins over Auburn, 77-62, and at Charleston-Southern, 66-60. In their most recent victory over Charleston-Southern, senior David Gomez led all scorers with 22 points in the win.
