Junior (2006): Phil Backert stepped up his game in 2006 coming off the bench with timely hitting and great defensive play with a fielding percentage of .929 in 13 games, splitting time at first base. In 23 at bats Phil batted .261 with 5 RBI and 4 walks. He was the spark-plug off the bench the team needed that kept the Knights in many games.
