Adam Ruud Named Second-Team NSCAA All-South Region

He is the first 49er to earn consecutive NSCAA All-South honors since Mac Cozier in 1994-95

Dec. 12, 2005

Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers men's soccer senior forward Adam Ruud was named second-team All-South region by the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). Ruud, who earned third-team All-South region honors last season, became only the sixth different 49er to earn All-South region honors twice and the first since Mac Cozier in 1994-95.

He earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors this past season. In 2004, he earned first-team All-Conference USA honors.

He finished the season tied for fifth in the Atlantic 10 with eight goals. In only two seasons with the 49ers, he recorded 19 goals including five game-winning goals. He finished his career with six assists and 44 career points.

Ruud joins Cozier, Ian Dennis (1992-93), Gabe Garcia (1989-91), Aidan Heaney (1988, 1991) and Ricky Riera-Gomez (1988-89) as 49ers that have earned multiple All-South region honors.
