Men's Soccer Signs Star of North Carolina State Title Team Jeff Favitta

Favitta led his high school team in assists and goals as a senior

March 14, 2005

Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers men's soccer coach John Tart has announced the signing of Jeff Favitta to a national letter-of-intent for the upcoming 2005 season.

"Every team Jeff has played on has had considerable success," Tart said. "He has been a major contributor to this success. His high school team won the state championship and his club team, CASL, is one of the best in the nation. Jeff can play anywhere on the field but is best at wide back. He is a tenacious player with good skills and vision."

As a senior, he led Raleigh's Leesville High School to the North Carolina State championship. He scored the game's only goals in both the east regional final and the state championship game. He led his team in scoring with 10 goals and 10 assists. For his efforts this past season, he earned all-conference and all-east team honors. He also has played on the state ODP team for the past five years. He has played for the `86 CASL elite team for the past two seasons which won the North Carolina state club team championship as well as the prestigious Disney tournament this past year.
