Sheedy Shoots -5 To Take Individual Lead

Niners 5th After Two Rounds at Hyatt Plantation Intercollegiate

Puerto Rico - Junior Ray Sheedy shot a five-under par 67 to tie for the individual lead at the Hyatt Plantation Club Intercollegiate with a two-round total of -7, 137. The 49ers are in fifth-place after shooting +3, 291 in the second round to come in at -2, 574. The third and final round will be held Tuesday.

Texas Tech leads the 11-team field at -14, 562, seven strokes better than second-place Kentucky (-7, 569). Texas Tech's Oscar Floren shares the two-round lead with Sheedy.

Sophomore Jonas Enander Hedin shot a second round 74 while Matt Mincer, Trevor Murphy and Andrew DiBitetto each carded second round 75's. Mincer is tied for 16th at even-par 144. Murphy and DiBitetto are tied for 27th at +3, 147 with Enander Hedin close behind at +4, 148. Freshman Stefan Wiedergruen, playing as an individual, shot 74-80 for a two-day 154.

The final round begins with a shotgun start, Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The 49ers wil be paired with fourth-place Louisville (-3, 573) and sixth-place North Florida (+3, 579).
