Peterson Steps Down as Director of Basketball Operations

Coached For Two Years at Wofford before Joining 49ers

Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte 49ers Men's Basketball Director of Operations Dan Peterson has resigned his position, effective Aug. 15, in order to pursue other career opportunities.

Peterson spent one year with the 49ers handling a lot of the day-to-day activies of the program, including team travel, scouting and underclassman recuiting. He has over 10 years of experience in the coaching profession. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach at Wofford for two years, 1998-2000. Prior to that he held positions at Towson State, Texas, Colorado, South Florida and Florida, where he got his coaching start as a graduate assistant from 1973-75.

"I appreciate all that Dan did for us in his time at Charlotte" said 49ers head coach Bobby Lutz. "I certainly wish him the best in his future business endeavors."

A search to find a replacement for Peterson will begin immediately.
