Grant Achilles is in his first season as the volunteer assistant coach for the Charlotte Baseball team. Achilles joins the team fresh off a coaching stint with the Thunder Bay Border Cats, the 2006 Northwoods League runner-up. A former Wake Forest Demon Deacon, Achilles played first base, second base, catcher and some right field in his collegiate career, with a notable 2005 season, during which he hit for a .381 average. Achilles will coach first base, assist in providing position player instruction and assist with summer league placement.
